The heart of the Charismatic Episcopal Church is to bring the fullness of the ancient and historic Church to evangelicals, pentecostals, and charismatics, as well
as bringing the fire of Pentecost and the Biblical faith to those in liturgical churches. We see from the very beginning that the Church of Jesus Christ was fully charismatic, fully evangelical, and fully
liturgical/sacramental. These three streams of worship, under the authority of the Episcopate, spread the Gospel around the world. In this time, God is raising up men and women committed to the restoration of this Catholic and Apostolic faith and experience.
The C.E.C. in the Northeast U.S. and Canada is fully committed to this vision. In addition, we see a Church that has a heart for the least, the lost, and the lonely. It is a Church whose very mission is mission. We want to reach out to a people whose families are torn apart, who are
struggling with addictive behaviors, and who are broken in body, mind and spirit. We know the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change not only individual lives but an entire culture. Jesus said, "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." As people are brought to a living relationship with Jesus Christ and then discipled in the faith and life of His Church, through Word and Sacraments, lives are changed.
It is an overwhelming vision, and yet through concentrated prayer and a commitment to His Great Commission, we believe through the outpouring of His Spirit, we will see a glorious Church raised up. It will not be a Church made by hands, but a Church
built on a sure foundation by the Lord Jesus Himself. He said, "I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."
