CONFESSION OF SIN
Kneel together and say the following
[If alone you may make this prayer singular]
Most merciful God,
we/I confess that we have sinned against you
in thought word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart, we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that
we may delight in Your will, and walk in Your ways, to the glory of Your name.
Amen
THE APPOINTED PSALMS
At the end of each appointed Psalm say together:
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the
beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen
THE LESSONS
Use lectionary readings for each day
The Old Testament Reading
The Epistle Reading
The Gospel Reading
(Silent meditation should be kept after each reading)
After each reading the leader says:
The Word of the Lord
All others respond by saying:
Thanks be to God
THE APOSTLES CREED
Say this daily whether alone or with others
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen!
THE PRAYERS
The leader says: The Lord be with you
All others say: And also with you
Leader: Let us pray
All say together:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name.
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen
Then pray one or more of the following:
For the Church
Lord, we/I pray for Your holy catholic Church; where it is corrupt, purify
it; where it is in error direct and reform it. Where it is right, strengthen it;
where it is in need, provide for it; where it is divided, bring it to unity. In
Jesus name. Amen
For the CEC
Bless, O Lord, the Charismatic Episcopal Church, and send down upon our
Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and the congregations committed to their charge,
grace through Your Holy Spirit, to live according to the example of your son,
and to reveal the power of your love to all those around us. In Jesus name. Amen
For our Pastor
Gracious Lord, we/I pray for our Pastor, that you would bless and
protect him and his family. Keep him in the vision that you have given him.
Protect him from the attacks of the enemy, and the temptations of his own heart.
And use him mightily for the equipping of the saints, and the building of your
kingdom. In Jesus name. Amen
For our Parish
Everliving God, we/I pray for our/my church family, that you would
grant us grace to live lives of love towards you and one another, that the world
might see our example of unity and loving service, and in seeing, believe in
your son. In Jesus name. Amen
For Missionaries
Lord, God of all the world, bless all those who labor in the spreading of
your gospel both here and overseas. Give them wisdom to know, strength to do,
patience to suffer, and courage to persevere in your service. In Jesus name.
Amen
For the Nations
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, guide the nations of the world in the way
of justice and truth, and establish among them that peace which is the fruit of
Your righteousness. In Jesus name. Amen
For the Sick
Father of mercies and God of all comfort, heal the sick, give rest to the
weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, and provide
for all those in need. In Jesus name. Amen
For Our Home
Lord, visit this home and drive from it all snares of the enemy. Send your
angels to dwell here as guardians, and let your blessings be always upon this
home. In Jesus name. Amen
For Our Children
Almighty God, Heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of
our children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring them up, that
we may teach them to know, love and serve you. In Jesus name. Amen
For our Government
Lord, we pray for all those in positions of public trust, for our President,
his cabinet, the Congress, the Supreme Court and all national, state and local
officials, that they may have wisdom and strength to know and do your will. In
Jesus name. Amen
For the Mission of the Church
Almighty God, whose will it is that all should come to you through our Lord Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness to him, that all may know the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection.
In Jesus name. Amen
Pray the following daily:
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of
the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So
clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring
those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of
your name. Amen
Here may be sung a song
INTERCESSION
At this time, each participant should freely lift up their personal
thanksgiving and intercession to the Lord.
THE GENERAL THANKSGIVING
All say together:
Almighty God, Father of all mercies,
we your unworthy servants
give you humble thanks
for all your goodness and loving kindness
to us and to all you have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world
by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace,
and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray,
give us such an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts
we may show forth your praise,
Not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up ourselves to your service,
and by walking before you,
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages.
Amen!
GRACE AT MEALS
Give us grateful hearts, our Father, for all of your mercies, and make us
mindful of the needs of others; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
