The parent should pray this with the child before the child can talk,
setting the example to be followed.
Lord, bless our home, our family, our friends and our neighbors, and give
to us truly thankful hearts. In Jesus name. Amen
When the child is older and able to talk, He may learn to pray by saying
the following or another form as taught by the parents.
Heavenly Father,

Lord Jesus, be with me today,
and help me in all I think, do and say.
An older child may pray the following:
Heavenly Father, give me clean hands, clean words and thoughts. Help me to
stand for what is right even when it is hard. Keep me from bad habits. Help
me to work hard, play fair, and not to be selfish. Make me able to forgive
and help others even when it costs me. Most of all, help me to love and serve
you more. In Jesus name. Amen.
